Changes to what the children are expected to do in year 4:

Moved from

Know times tables up to 12 × 12.

Rather than up to 10 × 10 by Year 5

Use factor pairs in mental calculations.

Year 5

Interpret and present continuous data using line graphs.

Year 6

Multiply 3-digit numbers by a 1-digit number using a standard written method.

Year 5

Add and subtract numbers with up to 4-digits using the formal written methods of columnar addition and subtraction where appropriate.

Year 5

Simple measure and money problems involving fractions and decimals to 2 decimal places.

Year 5

Read Roman numerals to 100.
