Wednesday 15th July
Hello Year 5! A very proud Mrs Riddleston here for our final update of the year.
When you joined us in September 2019 none of us could ever have imagined that we would only spend half of the year face to face. Despite all the challenges, it has been lovely to hear from so many of you regularly. Many of you have worked really hard to keep up with your home learning. It has been really special to us teachers that we have found out about your other adventures too. To discover how you have spent more time in nature, found out how to cook, created pieces of art and models at home, taken time to create your own workouts, grown plants and made ponds in your garden, supported the NHS and all our fantastic key workers and so much more.
You have so much to be proud of during your time in Year 5. A huge...
As you prepare for Year 6, remember our 6Rs. Many of you achieved your Bronze, Silver and Gold awards in Year 5 and we challenge you to reach even higher in 2020-21!
Tuesday 14th July
Good morning year 5 – and a happy Tuesday to each and every one of you! Mrs Underhill here with your Tuesday update
I can’t believe that we are in the final week of term – can you? It seems only a few days ago since we welcomed you into school and looked at your little faces, all lined up outside in the year 5 area. I bet you’ve all grown SO much since we last saw you, and are now ready for your next adventure in year 6!
This will be my last chance to wish you a safe and happy summer – enjoy new opportunities, take time to be outside, and challenge yourselves every day; just like I did this weekend, with my tree-climbing! I was challenged to climb one (just a little way!) so I did! Most of all – have fun.
Watch out for tomorrow for your final update of the year from Mrs Riddleston. For now, au revoir from me!
Monday 13th July
Good Morning Year 5, Mr Dinsley here on what is our last Monday of the term! How quickly has this year gone?! I just want to take this opportunity to say a HUGE well done to all of you who have worked so hard with your home learning over the past few months. I’m sure there were times when you found things difficult, and it may have been easier to just give up, but instead you persevered, demonstrated your 6R learning values and did your very best! I, like all of the teachers in Year 5, are extremely proud and will miss working with you. I also hope you enjoyed meeting your new teachers on ‘Virtual Transition Day’ and completing the activities set. They’re very lucky to have such a fantastic year group and I know you’re going be amazing! As normal, today’s work can be found over on the 'Learning Documents' page, as well as plenty more of your super home learning in 'Shout-outs'! Please also look out for home learning documents which will be uploaded tomorrow and Wednesday (one final push Year 5!)
For now, have a fantastic summer break, and I look forward to seeing you all around school in September.
