In Year 6, you will have weekly Maths and English homework and termly Creative Curriculum homework.
English Homework:
Reading:
Each week, you are expected to read 5 times at home. There is a space in you Learning Journal where you record what you have read, ready for it to be signed by adult at home. Every Monday, your TA will check your Learning Journal and keep a record of how many times you have read.
Spelling:
Spelling lists will be handed out on a Monday, and tested on a Friday. Practising little and often is the best way to learn your spellings. Aim for at least 7 out of 10.
Maths Homework:
Times Tables:
Every week, you will be asked to practise your times tables on TTRS. You should all have a log in already, but speak to your teacher if you can't remember what it is. Every Thursday, during our Year Group assembly, we will celebrate the most active children! Your class teacher will also check that you have been practising that week and note down the time spent. Aim for 10 minutes 5 times a week.
Creative Curriculum Homework:
Each half term, the children will be given a choice of homework to complete that is linked to the Creative Curriculum topic.
