Please find below information on the homework that is given in Year 6. 

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher. We can also support your child in completing their homework, so please get in touch if this applies to you. 

English Homework:

Reading:

Each week, you are expected to read 5 times at home. There is a space in your Learning Journal where you record what you have read, ready for it to be signed by adult at home. Every Monday,  your TA will check your Learning Journal and keep a record of how many times you have read. 

Spelling:

Spelling lists will be handed out weekly and tested within a week. Children are expected to go on Spelling Frame 5x a week for an average of 5-10minutes. Their goal is to earn 1000 spelling points each week. 

Maths Homework:

Times Tables:

You need to log onto TTRS to complete enough practises to create an average of 5 minutes per day across the week. You can see your average and check how you are getting on. 

Other Homework:

Topic Homework:

Once a term, your child will be given CC topic homework, where they will have the choice of what they complete from a given list. They are expected to complete at least two pieces. More information will follow on this homework.
