Without a doubt the future of British journalism and literature is secure. This week, in our Writing week, we have been debating the pros and cons of tourism in Snowdon; creating biographies about the legendary Ranulph Fiennes; generating poems to echo the rhythm and sound of trickling stream to roaring rivers as well as creating information booklets about the causes of earthquakes.
Huge congratulations must go to Isabel Jones for being our overall Year 7 Writing Champion, with a series of well structured texts that made full use of high level punctuation, vocabulary, openers and phrases .Special praise must also be saved for Will Hughes and Ben Collier as well for some truly unforgettable pieces of writing. The whole year group should be proud of their achievements this week.
It was a case of double delight for Isabel in today's assembly as she also came out as the overall winner for Westacre's Spelling Bee winning the competition by spelling mischevvee....mistchievious... mischievous in the final round in what was an exceptionally tense end to the final.
