Week beginning 28th September
This week, we've had a very early taste of Christmas and designed Christmas-themed images. These have been sent off to a wonderful company who transform them into various products, which can be ordered and purchased...ready for the festive season! Not only that, but other classes have been making their Greek clay pots as well as developing their problem-solving skills in Maths and speaking and listening skills in French.
Week beginning 21st September:
Another week where we have been creating clay pots in art, whilst sketching our Ancient Greek geometric designs onto them ready for painting once they are fully dried! We have also been conducting experiments to test how light travels in our science lessons, using torches, card and the dark! Lots of practical, hands-on learning to test our ideas and our skills!
Week beginning 14th September:
What another fantastic week we’ve had in Year 6! In History, we placed Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome on a timeline. We’ve been exploring light in Science and focusing on place value in Maths. In PSHE, the children thought about how they could use our 6Rs in different situations, and in Art, they created Greek clay pots.
Week beginning 7th September:
Thank you to all that came to our Welcome morning. It was great to see so many families coming together to join their children for a guided reading session. Lots of smiles had when participating in readers theatre!
What a great start to Year 6! We are impressed with all that has been achieved this week. Including P.E., Art, History and Computing!
