Forest School

In our Forest School sessions, children participate in a variety of outdoor activities, including bug hunting and identification, shelter building, construction, outdoor cooking over an open fire and using tools.

Our aims are:

  • to give children opportunities to explore the outdoors and experience the natural world at close hand
  • to build children's confidence and self-esteem
  • to encourage children to try new things and develop new skills
  • to improve communication and social skills
  • to improve problem solving and resilience

This week our Forest School groups have been busy developing our new site. They have relocated some small saplings, begun planting the hornbeam hedging and started planning different areas such as the fire circle.

Planting the hornbeam hedging - it's very small at the moment!

Over the half term holiday our new Forest School site started to take shape.
