Group 3 - Emily D, Lucy, Sophia, Danni, Arthur, Ed, Archie S, Marcus, Lok Kiu, Leo, Fletcher and Rhys
Group 3 have had a fantastic start to their Blackwell adventure. Their first activity was the fan descender where they bravely had to climb a towering pole and leap off the top! For their second go they took an extra challenge of trying to throw a tennis ball into a bucket as they jumped off. It was no easy feat but they gave it their all, with one ball narrowly missing Mrs Barlow!
Next up was crate stack, where they worked in pairs to build the tallest tower possible. Congratulations to Ed and Arthur who were today’s champions with an impressive 15 crates!
After a well earned lunch, the group tackled the indoor climbing wall. Everyone took turns scaling the wall with confidence and enthusiasm. They had great fun racing each other to the top and playing a lively game of stuck on the wall. Group 3 then headed over to their last activity of the day and tried their hand at archery. By the end of the session everyone was consistently hitting the target. A special shoutout goes to Lucy who hit the bullseye! After a fun filled day of amazing teamwork we’re now looking forward to dinner before our evening activity.
After an early start this morning, we got up and ready for a delicious cooked breakfast.
Group 3 then teamed up with Group 4 and headed to the outdoor swimming pool. Luckily we managed to just dodge the rain and by the time we got into the pool the sunshine had come out for us. Sophia, Emily, Danni and Lucy enjoyed a game of piggy in the middle while Fletcher and Ben attempted to show off their rugby skills in the water. Meanwhile, Archie, Marcus, Ed, Arthur, Lok Kiu, Leo and Rhys showed off their best tricks and had great fun trying to splash each other. It was definitely a highlight of the Blackwell trip so far.
We then headed into the woods to take on Group 4 in an epic game of laser tag. Group 3 were naturals and took to the game quickly, working together to secure victory in the first two matches. For their third match the group swapped to capture the flag where tactics came into play. Some of the team stayed back to protect their flag while others advanced forward to claim Group 4’s flag and reign victorious again. It was a brilliant display of teamwork and determination, they certainly made Mrs Barlow very proud and gave her bragging rights against Miss Hemming and Group 4!
After lunch and a trip to the shop where a huge amount of sweets and chocolate were bought to enjoy later, Group 3 headed off into the forest to tackle Tree Trek. They navigated a number of obstacles including wobbly bridges, tightropes, and nets and finishing with a zip line. Everyone got stuck in and encouraged each other round the course, some of us even went round 5 times! Archie kept us all entertained when he kept losing his shoes on the zip line and Ed has a newfound skill - tightrope walking. Who knew he had such good balance!
Our last activity of the day was High All Aboard. This involved climbing a very tall pole and balancing on the top in teams of four. The second challenge was then to see who could be last man standing, something we thoroughly enjoyed watching from the bottom!
We’re now back at our pods looking forward to dinner and our campfire later. Another brilliant day for Group 3!
After a wonderful camp fire last night spent singing songs and roasting marshmallows it was time for Group 3’s final morning. The first task was to pack all of our belongings and make sure our pods were tidy before heading off for a yummy breakfast of pancakes, toast and cereal.
Our first activity of the morning was Dual Zip Wire. Everyone had a go at whizzing down on their own before joining with a partner. Lots of fun was had racing each other to the bottom, I’m sure the screams of joy could be heard for miles! We then got to swap with Group 6 and have a go on the Giqnt Zip Line which is rumoured to go 40mph! A definite highlight of our trip.
Next we got ready for our final activity, Abseiling which was definitely much higher than it looked from the bottom! We had some real life spider men who descended with ease even stopping to pose or spin as they went.
Group 3 have had an unforgettable time at Blackwell, filled with laughter, friendship and fun. Every member of the group has made Mrs Barlow incredibly proud with their fantastic can-do attitude and sense of teamwork. Memories to last a lifetime have certainly been made, well done Group 3!
