Group 8 - Miss Jordan
Group 8- Lillian Mole, Holly Ingram, George Barley, Oliver Bruton, Amelia Clews, Tallulah - Mae Daniels, Henry Davies, Olivia Heath, Dougie Lovegrove, Freya Millward, Oliver Rhodes.
Group 8 have had an amazing start to their Blackwell trip! When they arrived, their first activity was abseiling where they had to hold onto the rope and walk backwards down the wall, they were all very brave and had a go which was fantastic! Next, they had archery, everyone was amazing but team 1 won the competition with 88 points! But all of the children had so much enthusiasm and tried really hard. After a long morning, the children had lunch, they sat near their pods with their friends. In the afternoon group 8’s next activity was the fan decent! We are so proud of everyone in group 8 as everyone had at least one try, With lots of children reaching the top too! In this activity the children had to climb to the top of the platform and then jump off whilst the fan slowed you down as you reached the bottom. Finally, their last activity was the crate stack, the children had to stack as many crates as they could before falling off or the crates collapsing. Group 8’s best score was 14 crates! The children are now eating their dinner and enjoying their free time before their evening activity
Today, group 8 have taken part in some super exciting activities, they started their morning with the dual zip wire. Most of the children took part and overcame their fear of heights! The children really enjoyed their time going down the zip line either on there own or with their friends, but they were not a huge fan of the walk back to the top!😂
Next up was the tree treck, in this activity they had to do an obstacle course through the trees using the ropes to get them to the next platform. Just some of the obstacles where crab walking across the rope, zig zag balance platforms, a climbing wall to walk across and a zip wire! Everybody got up to the first platform, and some children did the course more than 5 times! All of the children enjoyed both of the obstacle courses, one in the trees and one on the ground which included tunnels, climbing walls and planks to balance on. Some children tried the challenge and they had to do the tree trek blindfolded!
After their busy mornings the children enjoyed their lunch and going to the shop.
After lunch, their first activity of the afternoon was laser tag. Group 8 played against group 7, all of the children joined in and had an amazing time. They started with a warm up and had to try and be the last person in the game and were only aloud to stay in one spot for 15 seconds! (Group 8 won!!)They then played capture the flag which group 7 won. Then finally we played hide and seek, the teachers were the seekers and all of the children hid! Some of the children had to help us teachers to find the children because they had such excellent hiding spots!
The last activity before dinner was swimming, everybody was so excited and had so much fun, they had pool noodles, floats and a ball to play with. And the perfect weather to top it off!
The children then went for some dinner and enjoyed their free time, they had chicken burgers and mini donuts, then shortly we will be heading down to the campfire
Our last day at Blackwell has started with high all aboard, everyone had to climb up the pole in groups of 4. and when they reached the top they had 3 challenges, and they where things like doing star jumps, doing the YMCA and leaning back holding hands at the top with people from their group. Everybody had lots of fun and enjoyed climbing and helping each other to get to the top!
Our last activity was indoor climbing, the children had to climb up to the top and then walk back down, the children have also learned how to support the climbers using belaying and tailoring with the ropes In lots of their activities so they where experts during their indoor climbing session! This activity was definitely in their top 3’s. All of the children had a go on all 3 different walls and lots of children reached the top on all of them! At the end they had a race to the top against Brad our instructor!
