Computing Ambassadors

10th October has become known as Ada Lovelace Day. The Computing Ambassadors spent our meeting learning about why she has become known as 'The Mother of Computing' and her fantastic achievements during the 1800's. They then took this knowledge and shared it with the rest of their class.

Congratulations to the 2023-24 Computing Ambassadors

Congratulations to the new Computing Ambassadors!

Well done to the new cohort of Computing Ambassadors, who will be assisting Mrs Pledger to ensure the smooth running of the devices we have in our classrooms. We will also be discussing the school's e-safety policy and learning how to use the Apps on our iPads in order to share with our class.

Computing Ambassadors used Wellbeing time to introduce the concept of technology used by people with accessibility difficulties and the developments being made by companies such as Apple.

Welcome to the new Computing Ambassadors of 2022-2023!

This year we will continue to feed information to our classes about important aspects of computing, such as e-safety and new Apps available on our iPads.

We also plan to look at the different careers which you can enter, which require a use of computing skills - Look out for the ambassador presentations on these coming shortly!

E-Safety Interviews and Videos

Our computing ambassadors have been busy this term interviewing pupils at lunch time about their thoughts and opinions on e-safety. They have created and edited videos to help promote e-safety within the school:

House Competition - 11/15/21

Still image for this video
The Computing Ambassadors have decided to create a house competition this term that will develop your creativity skills. They would like you to create a digital greetings card using either Scratch or a Microsoft Office product, such as Work or PowerPoint. The video above shows you how to create pictures using shapes on PowerPoint online. You could also use Word, however, you will need to full desktop version as the online version does not allow you to use shapes. You have until Friday, 3rd December to complete your greetings card. If you'd like more information, ask your teacher or come and see Mr Evans.
Everybody who takes part will earn house points, and there will be honours of first place in each year group and an overall winner within the school. Good luck everybody!
