Year 7 have been studying a variety of conflicts and how they affected Britain. This week, we have looked at how Britain changed after WWI. These are some of their information posters of the key points
As part of reading week, we have been reading War Horse in English and Guided Reading lessons. To help us understand some of the vocabulary used, Mrs Bennett brought in some of her horse items for to see. It really helped us to understand what was happening in the book and how the horses were treated.
In assembly today, it was also announced who the new science council members would be. This is a role only for year 7 children and they already have lots of things planned. More members will be elected throughout the school year!
Jack from Southco came to talk to us about Engineering. He uses CAD to design projects: trays for a motor home, a gold Boeing 787, Fiat glovebox hinges, digger buckets, etc. Following this, he talked through the design process and mentioned that it takes approximately 4 years from start to finish.
