We have enjoyed Explorer Day 2022!

Tasks have included food tasting, where we tried avocado and tortillas, team building tasks and researching our chosen country or location.

We have enjoyed speaking about our chosen country to the rest of the class and even included some expedition maths in our day!

Wet, windy and cold day... no bother! 5LP used the BBC Supermovers videos to practise their timetable fluency.

Taking A Variety of Deep Breaths in Yoga Today.

Year 5 have had a fantastic time exploring the galaxy and the night sky in the Black Hole Planetarium today!

There was lots of excitement today in Year 5, as each class took their turn to visit the Black Hole Planetarium. We had a closer look at the planerts in our solar system and we were really surprised by the number of galaxies there are too!

There were lots of gasps as the star constellations appeared on the ceiling of the planetarium. Now we are all looking forward to spotting Jupiter in the sky tonight and showing our families how to find it!

A big thank you once again to Mr Allan, for capturing our imagination and helping us to explore Earth and beyond.

We have been exploring contour lines and the land that they represent in our Geogrpahy lessons.

Getting Creative With The Phases Of The Moon in Science !

We have all really enjoyed our Positive Notticing Day today in Year 5 as part of Reaching Out in Anti-Bullying Week

Odd Socks To Celebrate Our Differences In The Year 5 As Part Of Anti-Bullying Week

How many devices do you have connected to your router at home? We have been discussing Networks in our computing lessons, discovering how all of our devices talk to each other.

READING WEEK

We have loved reading Race to the Frozen North so much that Mrs Pledger sent a tweet to the author telling her about our fantastic classroom discussion. We were delighted to see Mrs Pledger had received a tweet from the author, Catherine Johnson! If you enjoyed reading this book, why not try other books by the author.

As part of Reading Week, we have also finished reading the book, Kensuke’s Kingdom. We have drawn our own idea of the island based on the description in the book.

The year 5 children have been using atlases in their CC lessons this week.
