Friday 26th January- Holocaust Assembly

Today we have been privileged to take part in a special assembly marking Holocaust Memorial Day, which is tomorrow. We have spent the week watching Tom Palmer reading his book, ‘This is not a story’ based on the life of Mala Tribich. Todays assembly allowed schools to ask Mala questions ourselves, and learn more about her life.

As part of this assembly, we were lucky to win a pack of books related to the Holocaust theme. Here are some of our historians with the selection of stories. These will be available in the library to borrow.

Art - still life drawing

Leo and Lily were special guests at Arena Flowers yesterday. They were chosen to be on the steering panel to give their views on Arena’s plans to be more eco friendly.

Severn Trent - sewage assembly! A fantastic, informative assembly! Thank you Rob.

Art- shading

In art, we are practising our shading. We used a you tube video to take inspiration from and videos each other to reflect on our success.

January learning...

Term has started with our new topic- Nature vs Humanity - in year 7.

We have learnt about the structure of the earth and how it relates to a hard boiled egg. We have considered lots of the issues that have impacted upon the planet and how we could affect it.

This has contunied in Computing where we are looking at environmental posters and will be creating our own.
