Climbing Wall & Orienteering

The climbing wall was really scary when we first saw it because it was much bigger than it looked and much bigger than we thought it was going to be! Some of us didn't want to go up at all, but we definitely gave it our best shot to overcome our fears and had a few goes. We got higher each time we got on it and gave it our best, and that was the most important thing.

Lots of us got quicker and faster and went even higher as we got more confident and worked out where the put our feet and hands a lot more. So many of us made it to the top as well and it was good to race with our friends and encourage everyone in our group to do their best. Most of our group managed to get to the top and push the buttons on the wall so everyone was really happy and proud of their effort. We also managed to feel like we were flying on the way down as well and do some spins in mid air! A really, really fun activity and an activity that we definitely would love to take part in again!

Orienteering was really hard to do because it was at the end of the day and we were already all quite tired, especially some of our group who went on the climbing wall first before the orienteering started!

Lots of running and searching happened in the orienteering activity, and it was good to be able to do that in groups with our friends. It definitely made it easier to communicate with them properly. We ran around most of the school areas to find our clues and letters, but there was definitely one that we couldn't find anywhere even though we searched a lot. We also liked the competition at the end when we tried to see who could make the most words using the letters that we found... after we had a drink and got our breath back, obviously!
