Congratulations to Year 5 for their fantastic efforts in our
Team Building Morning.
As part of our transition from first school to middle school, all of the year 5 pupils enjoyed working in teams of ten today, to find out more about each other, to make new friends, to learn more names of children in our class, and to demonstrate our communication, planning and problem solving skills. Our evaluations at the end of the day helped us to review our 6R learning values. We discovered there were opportunities to demonstrate all of them, especially resilience. Our visiting Team Building guides, from Wise Up, complemented the children on their hard work and the kindness demonstrated towards one another. As we prepare to explore our new value of the month, FRIENDSHIP, we can reflect on our day together to help us to make new friends.
Many thanks to the Year 5 parents , who came to join us for our Work Alongside Afternnon. We learnt about contour lines, and enjoyed creating a 3D model of a mountain to help us to understand what contour lines represent on a map.
Our topic for this term is Explorers and our current class book is Great Adventurers by Alistair Humphreys.
