Climbing Wall & Orienteering

We did our rock climbing session this morning and the wall didn't look that big... until you stood next to it! Lots of us got quite scared when we stood next to it, but when we found out that we could go as high as we wanted to, that made us feel much calmer. There were 4 different sections, some were easier than others and some were harder, so that was a good level of challenge for us because we had to work out where we were putting our feet and hands on different walls.

When we worked out how to position ourselves, loads of us got to the top and some of us were really fast at it, too. We had to push ourselves out of our comfort zone when we were on the walls and try to overcome our fears - even if some of us were terrified at the start! The harnesses were really safe and that made us try even harder. We were really proud of our times on there and had plenty of goes at it.

Overall, it was really fun and we'd love to do it again!

Orienteering was really tiring! The clues were scattered across the school and we had to use our map reading from geography to work out where they all were. Even though we did end up finding most of them, we used a lot of energy to make it happen.

It was frustrating at times because we couldn't find one of the clues anywhere, but we worked hard as a team and supported each other really well when we were doing the activity. Every time you found a letter, you felt like you were one step closer to the end and also getting a rest (which was definitely needed)!
