Group 2

For their final activity in Snowdon, Group 2 took on an exciting boulder climb that brought all their skills together. They worked as a team to scale a large rock, carefully planning their route and supporting each other along the way. Reaching the top was a proud moment for everyone, and they finished with a brave jump down from the boulder, ending their adventure on a high!

Group 2 had an unforgettable time gorge scrambling, tackling the rocky terrain with excitement and determination. They carefully climbed over slippery stones, helped each other across tricky sections, and embraced the challenge of moving through the flowing water. Laughter echoed through the gorge as they splashed through pools, with some bravely wading straight in while others eased themselves into the chilly water. Tallulah, Elspeth, and Faith were especially brave, taking turns to zoom down the natural rock slide with huge smiles and lots of laughter. By the end of the session, everyone was soaked but smiling, proud of their teamwork and adventurous spirit.

Group 2 had an unforgettable day stepping back in time as they explored the depths of a historic mine. Equipped with helmets and headlamps, the children carefully made their way through narrow tunnels and echoing caverns, discovering how miners once worked in challenging and sometimes dangerous conditions. Along the way, they didn’t just explore—they also climbed their way through sections of the cave, using ropes and carabiners, showing great determination and teamwork, and even made the most of a smooth, flat rock face by using it as a natural slide, adding an extra element of fun to their adventure. The experience was both exciting and educational, giving everyone a real sense of achievement as they navigated the underground world and uncovered the secrets hidden beneath the surface.

3words to describe the day

Emily- “funny, fun, dark”

Elsbeth- “ crazy, dramatic, dark”

Faith- “chaotic, fun, mining”

Group 2 have had an amazing day- they have been on the zip wire at Gideon Quarry! For many, it was their first time soaring high above the ground, and it’s safe to say there were a mix of nerves and excitement at the start! However, with encouragement from their peers and instructors, every child showed incredible bravery. The smiles (and a few happy screams!) as they flew through the air were a joy to see. The adventure didn’t stop there. The group also took part in rock climbing at lion's rock where they tested both their physical strength and determination. Scaling the rock faces required focus, resilience, and trust—both in themselves and in their teammates supporting them from below. It was amazing to watch the children push past their comfort zones and celebrate each other’s successes as they reached new heights.

Welcome to Group 2...

Here is our group blog for the week.

Group members: Miss Jordan, Elspeth, Faith, Evie, Ruby, Olivia H, Tallulah, Willow, Emily-Grace and Amelia.

Everyone has arrived safely in Snowdonia and we’ve had a brilliant first day settling in. As soon as we got here, we headed straight to our rooms, got our beds made, and met our instructors for the week.

We didn’t hang around for long before getting stuck into our first activity at Llyn Padarn, where everyone had a go at rafting. After a bit of practice paddling (and a couple of accidental falls in along the way!), the group quickly grew in confidence. Before long, everyone had the chance to jump into the water—and the staff were so impressed with how many took on the challenge and embraced the cold!

After a busy afternoon, we returned to the centre for showers and a well-earned change of clothes, followed by a delicious dinner of pizza and wedges.

This evening, the groups are heading off in different directions: some will be taking part in nightline and team-building activities, others will be exploring Llanrug, and a few will be returning to Llyn Padarn for some orienteering.

A fantastic start to the week—everyone is in great spirits and already making the most of the experience!
