For their last day out in Snowdonia, group 3 went out canoeing in the beautiful lakes. They children quickly picked up the key skills of canoeing and went out in their pairs. It was a beautiful way to end an action-packed week!
Today, Group 3 headed out to the stunning coastline of Rhoscolyn.
The group threw themselves straight into coasteering, navigating the rugged shoreline by climbing, scrambling, and jumping into the sea.
Next up was rock scrambling. The group worked together to scale tricky sections of the coastline, building confidence and resilience along the way.
And, as seems to be becoming a daily tradition, the excitement continued with another zip line! This time, the zip line was over the beautiful coastline!
It was a fantastic day for all involved and everyone is now due some well-earned rest.
Olivia has been the main entertainment for today with her constant falls whilst walking! She has vowed to remain on two feet!
On day 3 of our Snowdon trip, our group visited Rhiwbarch Slate Mine for an exciting underground adventure. As well as exploring the historic tunnels, we took part in a short zip line inside the mine over a steep drop! We also completed two challenging climbs, up and across the mines. It was a memorable day that combined learning about the mine’s history with fun and adventures. It appears to be their favourite so far!
More photos to follow as Mr Cartwright was having too much fun and forgot to take photos!
Group 3 had a busy and active day. In the morning, they took on the zip line at Gideon Quarry, with everyone completing it twice!! Confidence clearly grew from the first attempt to the second, and it was good to see everyone getting fully involved.
After a lunch break, the group moved on to climbing 'Lion Rock'. This was more physically demanding, but students approached it with determination and supported each other along the way. Reaching the top was a solid achievement and a good way to round off the day.
Overall, it was a positive experience that gave students the chance to try something different, build confidence, and work together!
Welcome to Group 3...
Here is our group blog for the week.
Group members: Mr Cartwright. William, Sidney, Mason, Henry P, Owen, Harry, Umut, Olivia S, Mya and Charlotte.
Everyone has arrived safely in Snowdonia and we’ve had a brilliant first day settling in. As soon as we got here, we headed straight to our rooms, got our beds made, and met our instructors for the week.
We didn’t hang around for long before getting stuck into our first activity at Llyn Padarn, where everyone had a go at rafting. After a bit of practice paddling (and a couple of accidental falls in along the way!), the group quickly grew in confidence. Before long, everyone had the chance to jump into the water—and the staff were so impressed with how many took on the challenge and embraced the cold!
After a busy afternoon, we returned to the centre for showers and a well-earned change of clothes, followed by a delicious dinner of pizza and wedges.
This evening, the groups are heading off in different directions: some will be taking part in nightline and team-building activities, others will be exploring Llanrug, and a few will be returning to Llyn Padarn for some orienteering.
A fantastic start to the week—everyone is in great spirits and already making the most of the experience!
