Day 1>

Adventure is out there!

What an incredible start to our Blackwell Adventure residential! 
The children jumped straight into the action this morning, taking on the Crate Stack and the Fan Descender. it was fantastic to see everyone stepping outside their comfort zones, encouraging one another and showing real determination. A special mention to Jack and Arlo who managed an impressive 12 crates on the crate stack- an amazing achievement. 
 

After a well-earned lunch by our pods the afternoon was packed with more exciting activities. The children enjoyed testing their aim in archery before tackling the indoor climbing wall. There were some fantastic performances throughout the day with Team 2 achieving an outstanding 370 points in the archery competition! 
 

The most wonderful thing about today has been seeing how brave every single child has been. Whether they were climbing high, stepping off the descender, or trying something completely new, everyone has shown courage, resilience and fantastic teamwork. We couldn’t be prouder of them all. 
 

After such an action packed day, everyone was more than ready for a delicious dinner of pasta and garlic bread followed by some delicious brownies for dessert! The children are enjoying free time before evening activities and hopefully a good nights sleep! 
 

We can’t wait to see what adventures tomorrow brings! 

Day 2 

What another fantastic day we’ve had! 

Most of us were awake bright and early, ready for another day full of adventure. After a heart breakfast of a full English with sausages, bacon, beans and toast (plus plenty of cereal for those who preferred), everyone was fuelled up and ready to go. 
 

Our first activity of the day was swimming, where there was lots of fun with floats, balls and, of course, plenty of splashing…especially aimed at the teachers! There were smiles all around as everyone enjoyed some time in the pool. 
 

Next cam elaser tag, where the competitive spirit came alive. A special mention goes to Jack, Arlo, Rosie and Jenson H, who showed excellent tactics, hiding amongst the trees, dodging the opposing team and working brilliantly together. 
 

After enjoying a picnic lunch on the field, it was time to put on our harnesses and helmets for the pole challenge on High All Aboard. This activity certainly tested everyone’s courage but the children rose to the occasion. The girls were incredible, tackling the height with confidence and determination. Well done to Rosie, Kian, Saffron and Chloe who all claimed to the very top and showed great trust in one another. Not to be outdone, the boys climbed like spider monkeys, amazing themselves with how brave they could be! Jack, Arlo, Jenson M, Lawrence and Josh sped up to the top in less than a minute each! 
 

the excitement continued with the Tree Trek, a Go-Ape style high ropes course through the trees. Once again the children demonstrated outstanding team work, resilience and encouragements, helping each other every step of the way. The girls (Larissa and Chloe) were especially encouraging. 
 

After such an action-packed afternoon everyone was ready for a delicious dinner of doughnuts and chicken burgers. Well deserved! The long-awaited trip to the shop was next on the agenda, where there were plenty of treats and souvenirs to choose from! 
 

we rounded off the evening with a wonderful campfire, singing songs together so lots of laughter and of course, toasting marshmallows. It was the perfect end to another unforgettable day, 

after all of today’s adventures were hoping everyone will be fast asleep and well rested for another exciting day tomorrow before heading home! 

Day 3>
 

Our final day at Blackwell Adventure began with a bit of a challenge… waking everyone up! Some of us were still fast asleep until Mrs Bennett came to the rescue with her rather unconventional alarm clock – a very enthusiastic performance with pots and pans! It certainly did the trick!

Breakfast was a real treat, with delicious pancakes and syrup, alongside cereal and toast, giving everyone plenty of energy for one last day of adventure.

Our first activity was abseiling, and once again the children showed incredible courage. Stepping backwards over the edge is never easy, but everyone gave it their best shot. Some even added an extra challenge with impressive jumps and a few spectacular 360° spins on the way down! A special mention goes to Jenson M, whose super-stealthy abseiling style certainly caught everyone’s attention.

To finish the residential, we took on the zip line. There were lots of laughs as the children raced each other down the line, with Jack and Josh providing plenty of entertainment. The standout moment, however, came from Larissa, who bravely faced one of her biggest fears and absolutely smashed the challenge. We are all incredibly proud of her determination and courage.

After one final lunch together, it was time to pack up and wait for the coach home. Although everyone was feeling a little tired after three action-packed days, there were plenty of happy faces, wonderful memories and stories to tell.

We are so proud of every member of Group 4. Throughout the residential, they have shown courage, resilience, kindness and fantastic teamwork. They have encouraged one another, stepped outside their comfort zones and embraced every challenge with enthusiasm.

Now it’s time for a well-earned rest… for both the children and the staff! Thank you for making Blackwell Adventure 2026 such a memorable experience.
